My Obsession Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

by - July 15, 2010

This morning, while travelling in the car with hubby to the workplace, I listened to the discussion aired on the radio about Obsession Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I used to study about this kind of mental disorder since I found it’s quite similar to what I’m experiencing in my daily life. I tend to arrange everything to be in order no matter how tired I am. Hubby realizes that everyday after work, once we got home, I rushed to tidy up the house and organize things...

I have to do the same and it’s a routine to me. I have some kind of rules set up in my mind that I ‘must’ do it. I tried to leave the routine and go to work some days but then I walk into the office with stress and feel things didn’t work out right, not in order. If I leave the routine for a day, or let say, 2-3 days, I’ll spend normally whole Saturday to ‘pay the debt’. So, I ensure myself to have time to do the cleaning and tidying routine because if I do so, I can go anywhere with relief. This might sound scary that I organize my wardrobe according to colors and hanger colors. It can’t be mixed and match based. Thank God I didn’t label it… same goes to shoes, towels etc. Since I get married, it’s getting tougher and I knew my hubby realized it but he didn’t complaint much about my obsession. I feel tired and have to write to-do-list everyday because I afraid it’s not as what I want.
